DESCRIPTION: Good flat farm east of Springlake, Texas on pavement.  This farm is extremely accessible with paved access off FM 2080 and with good county road access on east side off CR 229.  This farm is mostly flat with good soils for the area that are well suited to non-irrigated row-crop production or offer good grazing potential if planted to permanent grass.  There is an existing well that has been used in the past for irrigation.  The farm has not been irrigated for the past few years as the existing single well no longer pumps enough water to run ¼ mile pivot irrigation system that is on the farm.  There is good access to electrical service along the north, east and south boundaries.


TOPOGRAPHY: Farm is generally flat with some slight slope to the east.

IMPROVEMENTS: The farm has one existing water well that is currently equipped with a submersible pump.  Single well no longer pumps enough water to irrigate effectively with the 1996 Valley pivot that is located on the property.

FENCING: There is no fencing currently on this property, there is a fence on the south boundary that is owned and maintained by the owner of that property.

WILDLIFE, HUNTING AND RECREATION: Area has hunting seasons for dove, quail, pheasant, mule deer and whitetail deer. This farm could have increased hunting potential, defending on future use of land.  If planted to cool season forage such as wheat, farm could potentially provide hunting habitat for migratory birds such as geese or crane, if planted to permanent summer grass or mix of forages both cool and warm season farm could have hunting potential for quail.

SOIL: Predominate soils on this farm are a mixture of Portales loam, 0 to 1 percent slopes, Olton Loam, 0 to 1 percent slopes, Acuff Loam, O to 1 percent slopes, Amarillo fine sandy loam, 0 to 1 percent slopes, with some minor areas of Mansker loam, 0 to 1 percent slopes, Amarillo fine sandy loam, 1 to 3 percent slopes, and Olton loam, 1 to 3 percent slopes.  See capability Legend on Soil Maps that is provided on Website.

USDA INFO: Farm is currently in the USDA Farm Program and FSA 156 can be provided to serious inquiries.  The farm currently appears to have DCP Crop Data as follows: 51.50 base acres of Seed Cotton, 57.10 base acres of Corn, 12.90 of Wheat and 7.20 of Unassigned Generic base acres.  There is 5 acres of land reflected on the current 156 that will not convey so the farmland and cropland acres will be less than indicated on current FSA 156.
