John Harwell was born and raised on a working cattle ranch in Kaufman County.  He graduated from Terrell High School and went on to receive a degree in accounting.  

While in high school, he worked for a local building supply and home center and worked his way up to manager.  Here John gained extensive knowledge about the building industry from his daily interactions with building professionals.

After completing his degree, John worked as comptroller for a local Case IH dealer in Terrell Tx where he expanded his knowledge of rural land management and agricultural equipment.  When the local dealership was purchased by a large corporate dealership, he became the sales and finance coordinator for their ag division.  After retiring from the corporate world, John and his wife Lori of 36 years built a home on a working cattle ranch in East Texas near Lake Fork.  It was then he was able to pursue his dream of becoming a Texas Realtor®.  John is a member of the National Association of Realtors.

In his free time, John enjoys hunting and fishing.  He looks for any excuse to get out and enjoy nature.
